Buxton Methodist Church is an environmentally conscious congregation.
In 2012 we renewed our gas boiler, with the help of grant funding, in order to improve our energy efficiency through increased programmability.
In May 2016 we began the installation of photo-voltaic panels on the south-facing pitch of the church roof (see photo of work on site). The panels will enable us to generate electricity for our own consumption and to sell back to the National Grid.
We encourage all users of the building to”reduce, reuse and recycle’, to minimise waste sent to landfill. Our recycling policy states:
‘Members of the Buxton Methodist Church Council take seriously the need for sustainable living. They therefore encourage all volunteers and expect all paid employees to minimise waste and use recycling whenever possible’.
