Buxton Methodist church has always been involved in charitable work and outreach in the local community, throughout the UK and abroad. Church members regularly organise fundraising events to raise funds for charitable causes that reflect Christian values. The extensive premises are used throughout the week by many church and community groups and are often used for fundraising events and concerts.
Each year the Church Council allocate £5,000 to charitable causes.
Our various church and youth groups arrange fundraising events for UK charities throughout the year and donations are often made at Harvest and Christmas, such as:
- Action for Children
- British Red Cross
- Children in Need
- Comic Relief & Sport Relief
- Guide Dogs for the Blind
- MacMillan Cancer Support
- The Bible Society
- The Children’s Society
We also fundraise and donate to worldwide charities and campaigns such as:
- All We Can: Methodist relief and development
- Christian Aid
- Methodist Church Home & World Missions
- The Samaritan’s Operation Christmas Child (Shoebox Appeal)
- Toilet Twinning
- Water Aid
