Our Church finances: an overview of the 2015/16 financial year
At its meeting on 21 February, the Church Council approved our Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ended 31 August 2016, and these have now been submitted to the Charity Commission.
The financial position is summarised in the two pie charts shown below.
As can be seen, our income exceeded expenditure by £24,354 but this was due to considerable legacies and special donations, for which we are very grateful. The additional income enabled us to undertake maintenance and upgrading works to our buildings, particularly the bronze windows to the blue foyer and kitchen area.
As Chair of the finance committee, I am indebted to the committee members who so responsibly guide the financial affairs of our church, ensuring that we use the gifts with which we have been endowed as wisely and prudently as possible. Particular thanks are extended to our Treasurer, Ian Stubbs, who voluntarily undertakes all the bookkeeping activities of what is actually quite a large business, and to Christine Francis who examined the accounts prior to presentation to Council
