Younger People

Please find below details of the activities we deliver for young people in our church family. We also run a community baby and toddler group and host the 6th Buxton Methodist uniformed groups. You can find out about them here.

Sunday Club

Our Sunday Club meets at the church on term-time Sundays from 10.30am to approximately 11.30am.

Each session has a Christian theme with a variety of age-related activities – stories, games, crafts, music etc. Children also enjoy juice and biscuits together.

We are blessed with good facilities and are well-resourced with experienced leaders and helpers. Parents are welcome to stay with young children and there are crèche facilities for babies and toddlers.

A popular feature is our lovely children’s library. We have a collection of bright colourful children’s Bible stories for youngsters and their parents/carers to share and enjoy.

Our aim is to provide a safe, caring environment where children are introduced to the love of God and the Christian life, Enjoy themselves and have lots of fun!

We welcome all children aged 0-18yrs. Visitors to the town are welcome.

Youth Group

For the older children in our church, we now operate a monthly youth group. The group takes part in a number of activities and make plans for 3Generate and Holiday Club – see below.

Older children are also invited to contribute to the life of the church – worship, fundraising and church family activities.

Our experienced leaders and helpers provide a safe environment and an opportunity for growth and friendship.

Holiday Club

For the past few years, we have run a Holiday Club during the first week of the summer holidays for local young people. Each year, we have a theme and we organise a range of active, craft and educational activities.

Our themes have been:

  • Science ‘Wonder Zone’
  • Environmental ‘Planet Protectors’
  • Sporty ‘Team of Champions’

3Generate

Each year, the Methodist Church organises a youth event and we look to take members of our youth group.

They organise fundraising events, such as cake sales, through the year in order to cover the costs of attending.
