Buxton Methodist church has always been involved in charitable work and outreach in the local community, throughout the UK and abroad. Church members regularly organise fundraising events to raise funds for charitable causes that reflect Christian values.
The Church is a FAIRTRADE church and use FAIRTRADE produces whenever possible. Each year organises events to support the FAIRTRADE Organisation and continue raising awareness of the work they carry out.
In the local community the church members donate food for the local High Peak foodbank and clothes for refugees through the Humming Bird project.
Each year the Church Council allocate £5,000 to charitable causes including….

- and several other national and local causes
- The church members also play an active part in the Churches Together in Buxton annual Christian Aid collection and hold an annual coffee morning during Christian Aid week.
Donations to charities supporting people in the UK are often made at Harvest, Christmas and when there are national or international disaster appeals.
The extensive premises are used throughout the week by many church and community groups and are often used for fundraising events and concerts.
